Privacy Policy for The Rosenburgs

Effective Date: September 13, 2026

At The Rosenburgs (accessible from Home – The Rosenburgs), we are committed to protecting the privacy of all our visitors, including families and children. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have additional questions or require more information, please contact us at [Your email address].

Our site is directed to children. The Rosenburgs creates cartoons, games, and educational content designed for children and the families who care for them. Because portions of this website are directed to children under the age of 13, we take special care to protect children’s privacy and follow the U.S. Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and similar laws. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children, and advertising on this site is served with child-directed treatment, which disables personalized advertising and remarketing. See the “Children’s Privacy (COPPA)” section below for details.

1. Information We Collect

We collect two general types of information.

Information you provide directly. We receive personal information only when you choose to give it to us:

  • Contact form: if you write to us through our Contact page, we receive your name, email address, and the contents of your message (including anything you attach).
  • Comments: if you leave a comment on a blog post, we collect the comment text and your name; your email address is used to detect spam and, if you opt in, to show your profile picture via the Gravatar service; and we record your IP address and browser user-agent string for spam protection.
  • Orders and accounts: if you order merchandise from our shop or create an account, our shopping platform collects the information needed to process the order, such as name, billing and shipping address, email address, and phone number. We do not store credit or debit card numbers; payments are handled by our payment providers.
  • Children: we ask children not to send us personal information (such as their full name, email address, or phone number) without a parent’s or guardian’s permission. We do not use any message a child sends for any purpose, and we promptly delete any personal information we learn was submitted by a child.

Information collected automatically. Like most websites, we and our service providers collect technical information automatically when you visit:

  • Log data: IP address, browser type and version, device type, internet service provider, referring/exit pages, date and time stamps, and click activity. We use this to keep the site secure, analyze trends, administer the site, and understand how visitors use it.
  • Game preferences and progress: our online games (Flower Match, Flip Cards, Crossword, and others) save simple settings — such as sound on/off and high scores — in your browser’s local storage on your own device. This information stays on your device and is not collected or stored by us.
  • Cloudflare: the site is protected and accelerated by Cloudflare, which processes log and network information (including IP addresses) to deliver the site, defend it against attacks and abuse, and provide aggregate analytics. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy at Cloudflare’s Privacy Policy | Cloudflare.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, operate, and maintain this website and our games;
  • Respond to questions, suggestions, and messages sent through the Contact page;
  • Process and deliver merchandise orders and provide order support;
  • Moderate comments and prevent spam;
  • Improve, personalize, and expand our content and games;
  • Understand and analyze how visitors use the site;
  • Protect the site from fraud, abuse, and security threats; and
  • Comply with legal obligations.

3. Cookies and Local Storage

A cookie is a small text file stored on your device when you visit a website. We and our service providers use the following cookies and similar technologies:

  • Strictly necessary cookies: required for the site to function — for example, Cloudflare’s security cookies, our content management system’s session cookies, and shopping cart and checkout cookies.
  • Comment and login convenience cookies: if you leave a comment, you may opt in to saving your name, email, and website in cookies so you don’t have to enter them again; these last for one year. If you log in to the site, we set cookies for your login session (two days) and screen preferences (one year); if you select “Remember Me,” your login persists for two weeks. Logging out removes the login cookies.
  • Local storage (not cookies): our games save sound settings and scores in your browser’s local storage on your device only.
  • Advertising cookies (once ads are live): Google AdSense, as a third-party vendor on this site, may use cookies to serve ads. Because our site is directed to children, all ad requests are tagged for child-directed treatment, which means personalized advertising, interest-based advertising, and remarketing are disabled on this site. Ads shown to visitors are non-personalized.

You can delete or block cookies through your browser settings at any time. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site (such as the shop) from working properly.

4. Embedded Content from Other Websites

Some pages, including the homepage and episode pages, embed videos from YouTube. Embedded content behaves as if you visited YouTube itself: YouTube (a Google service) may set cookies, collect log data, and use that data in accordance with its own privacy policy, which we do not control. Please review Google’s privacy policy at Privacy Policy – Privacy & Terms – Google for details.

Our pages also link to third-party sites (for example, Amazon for our books). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites; please review their own policies.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We display ads on this site through Google AdSense. As a third-party vendor, Google may use cookies and other technologies on our site to serve ads, and its use of that data is governed by its privacy policy at Privacy Policy – Privacy & Terms – Google and its page explaining how Google uses data when you visit sites or apps that use Google services at How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services – Privacy & Terms – Google.

Because our content is directed to children, we tag all ad requests for child-directed treatment, consistent with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA). This treatment:

  • Disables personalized ads and remarketing;
  • Disables requests to third-party ad vendors, ad measurement pixels, and third-party ad servers; and
  • Applies Google’s ad-serving protections for children.

Visitors may also manage advertising cookies generally through Google Ads Settings at Ads Settings and through the Network Advertising Initiative opt-out page at aboutads, though the child-directed treatment described above already restricts how ads are served on this site.

6. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

The Rosenburgs does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13:

  • Our games and activities do not ask children for names, email addresses, phone numbers, or any other personal information, and children can play without registering or logging in.
  • The Contact form is intended for parents and other adults. We do not use messages sent by children for any purpose and promptly delete any personal information we learn was submitted by a child.
  • All ad requests on our site are tagged for child-directed treatment, which disables personalized and interest-based advertising and remarketing for every visitor.

Parents and guardians: If you believe your child has provided personal information on this website, please contact us immediately at [Your email address], and we will use our best efforts to promptly find and remove that information from our records. On request, we will also tell you what information, if any, we hold about your child and delete it.

7. Data Retention, Security, and Sharing

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. We use reasonable technical and organizational measures, including Cloudflare’s security protections, to guard against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration; no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

We do not sell personal information. We share it only: (a) with service providers who help us operate the site, such as Cloudflare for security and delivery and our payment providers for orders, under appropriate confidentiality obligations; (b) when required by law or to protect the safety and rights of others; or (c) in connection with a sale or transfer of the business.

8. Your Rights and International Visitors

  • Everyone: you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of the personal information we hold about you by emailing [Your email address].
  • EEA and UK visitors (GDPR): you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and object to the processing of your data, the right to data portability, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. We process personal data on the bases described in this policy (consent, contract, legitimate interests, or legal obligation).
  • California residents (CCPA/CPRA): you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request its deletion, to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we do not sell or share personal information), and to receive equal service and pricing regardless of whether you exercise these rights.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective Date” above will be updated whenever we do, and significant changes will be announced on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
